Cornerstone is an invitation to engage in quiet reflective time for anyone who would like to become more actively involved in your spiritual development. It is designed to provide participants (“candidates”) with an opportunity to revitalize and deepen their spiritual lives through a combination of quiet reflection and prayer, and the sharing of one’s faith journey with others. Parishes that offer Cornerstone usually offer both Women’s and Men’s Cornerstone retreats.
How much of my time is involved? Cornerstone Weekend lasts 24-26 hours, beginning on a Friday evening, and ending with a Closing Mass on Saturday evening. All candidates are provided sleeping accommodations at the parish on Friday night, which helps ensure the spiritual continuity of the experience for everyone involved. Following the weekend, candidates are encouraged to become members of the Cornerstone Team, which is responsible for planning the following year’s weekend.
There are tentative plans to join a Men's Cornerstone retreat on Friday January 29, 2021 and Saturday January 30, 2021 at Norte Dame of Mt Carmel in Cedar Knolls, we hope you will consider attending. St. Rose contingents have been invited to attend Cornerstone Retreats in neighboring parishes during recent years and may consider running retreats as interest continues to grow.
