July 11, 2015
I want to apologize for not having any information in the most recent bulletin, I missed the deadline not thinking about the 4th of July, here is what the article would have been.
The title of my column is a little deceptive today, since I am not giving you “News from Rome,” but rather “News from Lourdes.” So far we have been on the pilgrimage for five days at the time I am writing, the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul. It has been incredible! We were blessed to see the ordination of 13 young men for the Archdiocese of Paris at Notre Dame Cathedral. Moreover, I couldn’t count how many priest were present for the ordination, it is a true testament to the liveliness of the Church in France. Further, Lourdes is full of Catholics from all over, visible most in the candle-lit rosary walk, we heard German, Spanish, French, Latin, English, and even Vietnamese. We might not understand each other, but we all love the same Christ, and his mother Mary. We have been praying for everyone, especially at our Mass in the Grotto where Mary appeared to St. Bernadette, and all of you will continue to be in my prayers. Happy 4th of July!
